OUR FRYiNG
Golden batter. Flaky fish. Proper Yorkshire chips.
THE HEART OF FRYiNG
At Wetherby Whaler, great fish and chips begin with carefully sourced ingredients and the skill of our fryers. From the first satisfying crunch to the last fluffy chip, every detail matters.
TRADiTiONAL BEEF DRiPPiNG
We fry our fish and chips in beef dripping, continuing a Yorkshire tradition passed down through generations. It gives our batter its crisp finish and our chips the rich, distinctive flavour our customers love.
SKiLL iN EVERY BATCH
Great frying takes care, judgement and experience. Our trained fryers carefully balance temperature and timing, using sight and sound to judge each batch and deliver the quality you expect.
Fish is typically fried at 190–200°C for around 4–5 minutes, depending on its size and cut. Chips are typically fried at 165–175°C for around 6–8 minutes, with timings adjusted to reflect seasonal variations in the potatoes.
Each portion is cooked to order, bringing that care and craftsmanship straight to your plate.
QUALiTY YOU CAN TASTE
